Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) is seeking applications to fill the full-time, temporary parental leave position of Corporate Services Assistant.
The Corporate Services Assistant assists the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority in achieving the objectives as set out in their Conservation Strategy and Watershed-Based Resource Management Strategy through providing front-line customer service to all clientèle, providing efficient operation of the reception area, processing of incoming and outgoing correspondence, and providing clerical and operational support for all departments and staff.
In addition, this position provides administrative support for the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation (ABCF) and its various initiatives.

Major Duties:
Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority
- Receive visitors, make appointments and respond to requests for information
- Operate multi-line telephone system
- Distribute all incoming mail
- Process correspondence and make digital or hard copies as needed
- Maintain ABCA Directory
- Provide support for staff in office operations and clerical support for all departments
- Receive funds for ABCA and ABCF and enter receipts and payments
- Maintain Petty Cash and operate/close Moneris Machines
- Assist in maintaining ABCA filing system and forms file
- Responsible for purchase and distribution of offices supplies in support of all departments and staff
- Produce hunting permits for hunters/trappers on ABCA conservation lands
- Maintain the Flood Emergency Plan as a requirement of the Flood Forecasting and Warning Program
- Archive media coverage
- Maintain ABCA Resource Library, as well as other archiving requirements
- Occasional supervision of students and volunteers
Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation
- Provide administrative support for the ABCF and sub-committees
- prepare agendas and official minutes
- maintain record of donations
- generate charitable gift receipts for income tax purposes
- Assist ABCF in fundraising projects
- Annual Conservation Dinner and/or Auction or alternative
- Commemorative Woods dedication services
- Lions Fishing Derby
Qualifications:
- Team player with good interpersonal skills, and high work ethic
- Motivated with a high level of energy and effort towards the duties and requirements of the position
- Positive attitude towards peers, subordinates, supervisors, public, students, adults, Board of Directors and customers who obtain services of the ABCA
- Ability to operate all types of office equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Diploma from an accredited college and one-year equivalent experience, or three years of experience in office administration
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
- Possess strong time management and organizational skills
- Mentally and physically capable of dealing with the demands and pressures of the position
- Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s Licence
Assets:
- Previous experience and knowledge about conservation authorities in Ontario.
- Valid Ontario First Aid and CPR training, and WHMIS training
- Ability to deal successfully with emergency situations.
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks

Remuneration: $24.77 to $30.96 per hour depending on qualifications and experience
Hours: 35 hours per week with some evenings and weekends
