Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) is accepting applications for a summer contract Healthy Watersheds Student position to support water quality projects and watershed studies.

Duties include:
- Conducting surface water sampling for regular and special projects, often outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Assisting with biomonitoring activities, including fish, freshwater mussels, and turtles.
- Performing data entry, summarizing field data, and working with large datasets digitally.
- Preparing clear reports and communicating project updates and results to the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a post-secondary program in environmental studies, water resources, biology, environmental engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with outdoor environmental fieldwork and ability to work in adverse conditions.
- Hands-on experience collecting or monitoring water-related data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; database experience (e.g., MS Access, SQL) an asset.
- Working knowledge of GIS considered an asset.
- Ability to carry equipment up to 50 lbs with a partner and work on uneven or wet terrain
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence.
Remuneration: $22.84–28.55
Hours: 35 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends as required.
