Climate

Environment and Climate Change Canada defines climate as:

The historical record and description of average daily and ... seasonal weather events that help describe a region. Statistics are generally drawn over several decades. Climatology, or the study of climate, includes climatic data, the analysis of the causes of the differences in climate, and the application of climatic data to the solution of specific design or operational problems. It differs from weather, which is concerned with short term or instantaneous variations in the state of the atmosphere at a specific time.

Ausable Bayfield Conservation collects long-term monitoring data that helps provide a record, and determine trends, in water quality, quantity, and weather.

This information helps inform local knowledge about changes in weather - or weather variability - as well as changes in climate.
